#1 I am reading the book The
Dealer by Robert Muchamore. Right now two of the main characters,
James and Kerry are waiting at a bus stop. They are waiting for a bus to
deliver twelve kilograms of cocaine. James got the cocaine from a dealer that
gave him eighty quid to deliver it. Kerry came along with him, so if anything
happened she would be there to back him up. James and Kerry are delivering
cocaine because they are on a mission. James and Kerry work for CHERUB, a
secret British spy agency. James was recruited by CHERUB, when his mom died.
This is his second mission. The objective of the mission was to catch one of
the biggest cocaine dealers in the world, Keith Moore. James, Kerry, and some
other agents had to make friends with some drug dealers that were connected to
Keith Moore. The dealers were a part of KMG, or Keith Moore's gang. KMG
is one of the biggest cocaine dealing companies in the world, and James and
Kerry are up to the task to stop him.
#2 I think this is a great
book so far. Robert Muchamore did a great job writing this series. The book
before this was the best book I have ever read, (except for the Alex Rider
series). The book is so good, it is hard to put down. I think this book is very
interesting, because I am not a big fan of reading, and most books don't
interest me. But this type of book keeps me really interested. The characters
are always about to do something that I won't be able to predict. The
characters have a personality, but since their spies, and always on missions,
it is hard to tell when they are serious or not. James will be happy one
moment, and furious the next. Also, this is a book where you always think it is
the end but it never is. The plot is constantly changing, which interests me.
#3 A theme I have noticed
so far in The Dealer is strength. I notice this theme throughout the
entire book. To get to CHERUB, the agents have to go through a training course,
which is like boot camp for one hundred days. The agents show strength and
power through the training. Also, when the agents are on missions for
CHERUB, they always show strength. On the missions there are always times where
the agents have to stand up against criminals and show strength.
The agents usually have to change their character or personality
during the mission. They have to make friends with someone they don't want to
or go into a place they don't want to go. Strength is mostly seen in the
characters, and not much in the plot. I think strength will continue to be a
theme in later books in the series because the agents always show it throughout
the entire book.
#4 My favorite character
is James. James is my favorite character because he is the main character, and
he is always saying something or doing something to get my attention. During
the first book, James' mother died and he had to deal with a stepfather who was
the cause of her death. It was a hard time for James and he has to deal with it
for the rest of his life. He was recruited to CHERUB, and used that to forget
about what had happened in his past. James is always saying something funny or
encouraging. It makes me want to read more to see what he is going to do.
James is always willing to take on whatever challenge is at hand, and he always
finds a way to complete it.
#5 My least favorite
character is Mr. Large. Mr. Large is my least favorite character because he is
a mean-spirited, vicious, and harsh man. Mr. Large is the training instructor
who tries to make your life miserable. He once made a bet to another training
instructor that after leaving the kids outside in nothing but their underwear,
in below freezing weather, they would tell him they wanted to stop basic
training and try again next session. But, the kids withstood the cold and made
Mr. Large pay what he owed for the bet. Mr. Large trains you everyday, as hard
as he can until you hurt yourself, puke, or quit. James has a little sister
named Lauren, and she started basic training after her brother. Mr. Large was
bullying Lauren's friend, Bethany Parker. After a long day on the assault
course, Bethany had hurt her back and Lauren and Bethany finished multiple
miles behind the other girls. He told them they were not even good enough to
eat their own puke. He then told them to start digging their graves. After two
hours of digging, Lauren had finished, but Bethany had not. Mr. Large made
Lauren wait until Bethany was done. Bethany kept slowing down, and soon she
could barely drag her shovel. She begged Mr. Large for a drink, so he got a
massive fire hose and drenched her until she was covered with water up to her
knees. By the time he finished, she was covered in thick mud from head to toe.
Then he started kicking mud back into the hole she had already dug. Can you
think of anything meaner to do? But he did. He was hit her in the face with
mud, and screamed at her that she wasn't good enough. And other things like,
you will never make it and why don't you quit. He is the meanest character I
have ever read about in a book.
#6 I am going to predict that the CHERUB agents will catch the drug
dealer, and arrest most of the KMG gang. I am basing this prediction on the
fact that they already have a good lead on how they are going to catch Keith
Moore. If they build on that lead, and gain more information, they have the
skills to stop KMG. In The Dealer, James made friends with Junior Moore.
He found out information about the drug dealing business, and has gotten into
it. I think they will be able to take that even further, and stop the cocaine
business. I think the author has guided me to think this because they have a
lot of information about their mission and I think they are smart enough to
figure it all out. But I never know what will happen, because Robert Muchamore
always has me guessing!
